"There is an international fascination with Detroit as a city and as a community. While media and other sources portray different aspects of Detroit’s urban condition, a better way to understand the city is to engage cultural exchanges. The Cultural Service at the French Consulate in Chicago has partnered with the Detroit Collaborative Design Center, Impact Detroit and the University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Architecture to develop a weeklong cultural exchange between architects, students, residents and community leaders in Southwest Detroit."
