Brigitte Odendahl and her big group of kids entertained a roomful of parents and friends Sunday, December 6, 2009. Bruce Hammond and Cherie Williams made more music while kids and adults raided the food tables. (Several ladies brought goodies based on recipes in the new AFT Cookbook.)

This French film, starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie), tells the story of the life of Gabrielle Chanel leading up to her success as a fashion designer.  It is in French with English subtitles and is very nicely done, no car crashes or shootings!  It is at the Showcase Levis Commons Theatre and will not likely be there much longer.  Get there if you have a chance.  The Blade has a review at http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091106/ART09/911069982

There was a capacity crowd at the November 13 affair. Organiser Tom Reed and our favorite wine merchant, RichardFortney, produced a memorable affair. After an apperitif, there was a blind tasting of white and red wines from each of the major viticultural regions of France, and there was a set of cheeses to complement the wines. Richard's cassoulet was delicious.

The cooler weather of our Midwest fall inspires hearty foods such as soups, risottos, and roasted fowl.  Roasted pears, a chocolate walnut tart, and holiday cookies complete these seasonal dishes.

Check our current class schedule at www.georgeannbrown.com and find a menu that will stir those creative juices.
